This Privacy Policy (“Policy“) describes how Incorporated Insurance Services Inc., d/b/a IIS Insurance Services, Inc. (“Incorporated Insurance Services Inc.,” “IIS Insurance Services, Inc.,” “IIS Insurance Services,” “IIS,” “we,” “us,” or “our“), collects, uses, discloses, and protects information when you visit https://iisinsurance.com or any related site, subdomain, page, or landing page we operate (the “Site“); request a quote, application, certificate, or other insurance-related document; purchase, service, renew, modify, or cancel an insurance product placed through us; communicate with us by phone, voicemail, text/SMS/MMS, email, web form, online chat, or in person; or otherwise interact with us (collectively, the “Services“). By accessing or using the Services, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Policy and consent to the practices it describes. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.
True-Name Disclosure. “IIS Insurance Services” is a registered fictitious/trade name (DBA) of Incorporated Insurance Services Inc., a California corporation. Any reference on the Site, in our marketing materials, or in customer communications to “IIS Insurance Services,” “IIS Insurance Services, Inc.,” or “IIS” is a reference to Incorporated Insurance Services Inc. Insurance products are placed, and all binding agreements with us are entered into, in the legal name Incorporated Insurance Services Inc. (California Department of Insurance License #0G56765).
This Policy supplements, and does not replace, the privacy notices we provide under the federal Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act (“GLBA“), the California Insurance Information and Privacy Protection Act (“IIPPA,” Cal. Ins. Code §791 et seq.), and analogous state insurance privacy laws, which govern nonpublic personal information collected in connection with applying for or maintaining an insurance product. To the extent any conflict exists between this Policy and a GLBA/IIPPA notice we provide you in connection with a specific insurance transaction, the GLBA/IIPPA notice controls as to that information.
1. Who We Are
IIS Insurance Services is a licensed insurance producer/agency operating under the legal name Incorporated Insurance Services Inc. and doing business as IIS Insurance Services, Inc. We hold California Department of Insurance License #0G56765 and are licensed in additional states where we transact insurance. We act as an intermediary between consumers and third-party insurance carriers; we do not underwrite or issue insurance policies. The actual coverage you receive is governed solely by the policy issued by the carrier and any applicable endorsements. Our principal office is at 13636 Burbank Boulevard, Sherman Oaks, California 91401. You may contact us at info@iisinsurance.com or (877) 210-9514. State license information is also provided in the GLBA/IIPPA notice delivered with any policy bound through us.
All insurance applications, binders, declarations pages, invoices, premium-finance agreements, certificates of insurance, customer agreements, and other binding documents are issued and executed in the legal name Incorporated Insurance Services Inc. (California Insurance License #0G56765), even when our marketing or this Site uses the brand name “IIS Insurance Services.” References to the brand name in marketing or on the Site do not change, expand, or limit the rights or obligations of Incorporated Insurance Services Inc.
2. Categories of Information We Collect
The categories we collect depend on how you interact with us.
Information you provide directly. When you request a quote, complete an application or supplemental form, file or report a claim, request a certificate of insurance, manage a policy, or contact us for service, you may provide: full legal name; current and prior addresses; email address; one or more telephone numbers; date of birth; gender; marital status; dependents/household members; Social Security number (collected only when required by a carrier or by law and handled in accordance with applicable safeguards); driver’s license number, state of issuance, and driving history; vehicle information (VIN, year/make/model, garaging address, usage); property information (address, year built, construction, protection class, prior losses, mortgagee/lienholder); business information (entity type, FEIN, payroll, revenues, locations, operations); prior insurance history (carrier, policy numbers, dates, limits, lapses, cancellations, non-renewals); claims history; occupation and employer; financial information necessary to bind or service coverage (banking or card information for premium payment); communication preferences; and any other information you choose to provide in connection with the Services.
Information from third parties. Consistent with industry practice and authorizations you provide, we receive information from: insurance carriers, managing general agents, wholesalers, premium finance companies, and reinsurers; consumer reporting agencies (including credit-based insurance scores where permitted); motor-vehicle records (MVR), Comprehensive Loss Underwriting Exchange (CLUE), A-PLUS, ISO claims databases, and similar databases; your prior or current insurer; lenders, lessors, or lienholders; your appointed representative or attorney-in-fact; medical providers, but only with your written authorization where required by law; government records (including departments of motor vehicles, insurance, and licensing); referral partners and lead aggregators (where you have requested an insurance quote through them); and our affiliates, vendors, and marketing partners.
Information collected automatically. When you use the Site, we and our service providers automatically collect: IP address; device and browser identifiers and characteristics; operating system; language; referring/exit URLs; pages and content viewed; links and buttons clicked; date, time, and duration of visits; approximate location derived from IP address; and similar usage analytics. We use cookies, pixels, web beacons, software development kits (SDKs), session replay/analytics tools, local storage, and similar technologies for these purposes.
Call tracking and recording. We use a third-party call analytics platform (CallRail) to dynamically display tracking telephone numbers, route inbound calls, attribute marketing performance, and record or transcribe calls. Calls to or from numbers we publish, and calls placed through any click-to-call feature on the Site, may be monitored, recorded, and transcribed for quality assurance, training, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, and compliance. By calling us, accepting a call from us, or providing a phone number through the Site, you consent to these activities to the extent permitted by law. If you do not wish to be recorded, please tell our representative at the start of the call and we will end the call or continue without recording where reasonably possible.
Sensitive personal information. Some of the information above is “sensitive” under applicable law (for example, Social Security number, driver’s license number, financial-account information, precise geolocation, account credentials, racial or ethnic origin, and limited health-related information when required for certain insurance products). We collect, use, retain, and disclose sensitive personal information only as reasonably necessary to perform the Services, comply with law, prevent and investigate fraud, ensure security and integrity, or for the limited additional purposes you authorize. We do not use or disclose sensitive personal information to infer characteristics about you for purposes beyond those permitted by Cal. Civ. Code §1798.121.
Children’s information. The Services are intended for adults age 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18, and we do not sell or share for cross-context behavioral advertising the personal information of any consumer under 16. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact info@iisinsurance.com and we will take reasonable steps to delete it.
3. How We Use Information
We use the information we collect to: provide quotes, applications, and binders; place, service, renew, change, or cancel insurance products; verify your identity; underwrite, rate, and administer policies on behalf of carriers; submit, investigate, and adjust claims; collect and remit premium and process payments and refunds; communicate with you about quotes, policies, claims, billing, renewals, and service requests; respond to your questions and requests; send marketing communications consistent with your preferences and applicable law; perform analytics and measure marketing performance, including via call tracking, attribution, and online advertising; secure, maintain, debug, and improve the Site and Services; detect, investigate, and prevent fraud, identity theft, illegal activity, and policy abuse; protect the rights, property, and safety of IIS Insurance Services, our customers, and others; comply with insurance regulation, GLBA, anti-money-laundering and sanctions laws, tax obligations, court orders, subpoenas, regulatory inquiries, and other legal obligations; defend, exercise, or assert legal claims; and effectuate corporate transactions, including mergers, financings, reorganizations, and asset sales.
We process information based on your consent, our contract with you (or steps taken at your request before entering one), our legitimate interests in operating an insurance agency and protecting our business, and our legal obligations.
4. How We Share Information
We do not sell personal information for monetary consideration. We may share information as follows.
Insurance carriers and intermediaries. With insurance carriers, managing general agents, wholesalers, reinsurers, premium finance companies, claims administrators, and adjusters, in order to obtain quotes, place coverage, service policies, process endorsements, and submit and adjust claims.
Service providers. With vendors performing functions on our behalf, such as hosting, agency management systems, customer relationship management, document storage, e-signature, identity verification, anti-fraud screening, payment processing, accounting and audit, analytics, advertising and attribution, email/SMS delivery, and call tracking and recording (CallRail). These vendors are contractually limited to using the information for the purposes for which we engaged them.
Affiliates. With companies under common ownership or control with IIS Insurance Services, for the purposes described in this Policy.
Legal and regulatory disclosures. With state departments of insurance, other regulators, law enforcement, courts, attorneys, auditors, and similar parties when we believe in good faith that disclosure is required or appropriate to: comply with law or legal process (including subpoenas, warrants, audits, examinations, and market-conduct inquiries); investigate suspected fraud, misrepresentation, or violations of law or our agreements; cooperate with industry anti-fraud bureaus and databases; or protect the rights, property, and safety of IIS Insurance Services, our customers, or others.
Corporate transactions. In connection with any merger, acquisition, reorganization, financing, sale of assets, bankruptcy, or similar transaction, subject to customary confidentiality protections.
With your direction. With third parties at your request or with your authorization (for example, when you ask us to send a certificate of insurance to a lender, landlord, or additional insured).
Aggregated or de-identified information. We may share information that has been aggregated or de-identified so it cannot reasonably be used to identify you, and we commit not to attempt re-identification.
5. GLBA / IIPPA Notice (Financial and Insurance Privacy)
Because we provide insurance products, Incorporated Insurance Services Inc. (d/b/a IIS Insurance Services, Inc.; CA Insurance License #0G56765) is a “financial institution” under GLBA and a “licensee” under California IIPPA. We collect nonpublic personal information about you from the sources described above and disclose it to nonaffiliated third parties only as permitted by law — including to place and service the insurance you request, to process and adjust claims, to detect and prevent fraud, to comply with law, and with your written authorization where required. We maintain physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards designed to protect nonpublic personal information consistent with applicable law, including the GLBA Safeguards Rule. A separate GLBA/IIPPA notice may be delivered to you in connection with specific insurance transactions; that notice controls as to nonpublic personal information used for insurance underwriting, servicing, and claims.
6. Communications, TCPA, and SMS Consent
When you submit a phone number to us through the Site, a referral partner, or otherwise — or when you call us, text us, or otherwise initiate contact — you consent to receive calls and text messages from IIS Insurance Services and our authorized representatives at that number, including calls and texts placed using an automatic telephone dialing system, an artificial or prerecorded voice, ringless voicemail, or SMS/MMS, for purposes including: responding to your inquiry; providing or following up on quotes; servicing or renewing your policy; processing or updating you on a claim; identity verification; debt collection associated with premium owed; and, where you have opted in, marketing.
Consent to marketing calls or texts is not a condition of purchasing any product or service from us. Standard message and data rates may apply. Message frequency varies. You may opt out of marketing texts at any time by replying STOP (and may obtain help by replying HELP), and you may opt out of marketing calls or emails by following the unsubscribe instructions in the communication or by contacting us at info@iisinsurance.com. Even after you opt out of marketing, we may continue to contact you for transactional, servicing, claims, billing, fraud-prevention, and legal-compliance purposes.
By using the Services, you also consent to receive electronic communications (including disclosures, notices, and policy-related documents) from us by email, SMS, or through the Site, and you agree such communications satisfy any requirement that they be in writing.
7. Online Advertising and Analytics
We and our partners use cookies, pixels, SDKs, and similar technologies — including, where deployed, Google Analytics, Google Ads, Meta Pixel, Microsoft Advertising, and similar tools — to analyze usage of the Site and to deliver and measure interest-based advertising on the Site and on third-party properties. You can use the industry opt-outs at https://optout.networkadvertising.org and https://optout.aboutads.info, the AdChoices controls offered by individual platforms, and your browser/device controls. Because there is no consistent industry standard, we do not currently respond to “Do Not Track” browser signals; however, we honor recognized opt-out preference signals such as Global Privacy Control (GPC) where required by applicable law.
8. Cookies and Tracking Technologies
The Site uses strictly necessary cookies (required for basic functionality), performance/analytics cookies, functional cookies, and advertising cookies. You may control cookies through your browser settings or any cookie-preferences tool we make available on the Site. Disabling certain cookies may limit functionality. We also use call tracking technology (CallRail) that may set cookies and dynamically swap displayed phone numbers to attribute marketing performance.
9. Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as necessary to provide the Services and for the longer of: (a) the period required by applicable insurance regulation, GLBA, the IIPPA, tax law, anti-fraud obligations, and other applicable record-retention laws; (b) the duration of any policy or relationship plus a commercially reasonable record-retention period (typically not less than the longest applicable statute of limitations for claims arising from the relationship); and (c) until you exercise a valid deletion right under applicable law that is not subject to an exception. When information is no longer needed, we delete, anonymize, or de-identify it, or store it securely until secure deletion is feasible.
10. Security
We maintain administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information against loss, misuse, unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction, including, where applicable, those required by the GLBA Safeguards Rule, the IIPPA, the New York DFS Cybersecurity Regulation (where applicable), and the NAIC Insurance Data Security Model Law as adopted by states in which we operate. No method of transmission or electronic storage is perfectly secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for safeguarding any account credentials and for the security of devices you use to access the Services.
11. Your Choices and Rights
Marketing. You may opt out of marketing communications at any time as described in Section 6.
Access, correction, deletion, portability. You may ask us to provide a copy of personal information we maintain about you, correct inaccuracies, delete personal information, or, where applicable, transmit it in a portable format, subject to limitations under insurance regulation, GLBA, IIPPA, the FCRA, fraud-prevention obligations, and other applicable law. To submit a request, email info@iisinsurance.com or call (877) 210-9514.
California residents (CCPA/CPRA). If you are a California resident, you have the right to: (i) know the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you, the categories of sources, the business or commercial purposes for which it was collected, and the categories of recipients; (ii) request deletion of personal information we collected from you; (iii) request correction of inaccurate personal information; (iv) opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising; (v) limit our use and disclosure of sensitive personal information to permitted purposes under Cal. Civ. Code §1798.121; and (vi) be free from unlawful retaliation or discrimination for exercising these rights. We do not knowingly sell or share personal information of consumers under 16. We will verify your request using information we have on file. You may use an authorized agent who provides written authorization signed by you, plus proof of identity. If we deny your request, you may appeal by replying to our response. To the extent we engage in cross-context behavioral advertising, you may opt out using the Global Privacy Control or any “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” link we provide. Information regulated under GLBA, IIPPA, the FCRA, the Driver’s Privacy Protection Act, and Cal. Civ. Code §1798.91 is not subject to the CCPA to the extent of those exemptions.
Other state residents (CO, CT, VA, UT, TX, OR, MT, IA, DE, NE, NJ, NH, MN, MD, RI, and similar). If you reside in a state with a comprehensive consumer privacy law that applies to us, you may have analogous rights, including rights to access, correct, delete, port, opt out of targeted advertising or sale, opt out of certain profiling, and (where applicable) appeal a denied request. Contact info@iisinsurance.com to exercise these rights. We will respond within the period required by applicable law.
Shine the Light (Cal. Civ. Code §1798.83). California residents may request information about disclosures of personal information to third parties for direct marketing purposes by emailing info@iisinsurance.com.
Nevada residents. Nevada residents may direct us not to make certain sales of “covered information” by emailing info@iisinsurance.com.
12. Third-Party Sites and Services
The Site may link to third-party websites, applications, and services we do not control. Their information practices are governed by their own policies. We are not responsible for those practices and encourage you to review their policies before providing information.
13. Jurisdiction; International Users
The Services are operated from the United States. If you access them from outside the United States, you understand that your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, where data protection laws may differ from those in your jurisdiction.
14. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the “Last Updated” date and, where appropriate, by additional notice on the Site or by other reasonable means. Continued use of the Services after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
